QRS Management

Spencer Lien

Spencer is a native of Aberdeen, South Dakota.  As a student at the University of South Dakota, Mr. Lien spent every summer selling educational reference books door-to-door with the Southwestern Company of Nashville, Tennessee.

Each summer, Southwestern recognized Mr. Lien as one of the top salespeople in the company.  As an upperclassman, he also recruited, trained and managed other college students in the program. 

Mr. Lien began his career as a sales representative with a startup medical equipment dealer in Atlanta, GA, selling 24-hour ambulatory heart and blood pressure monitors for Ambumedix Systems, Inc.

In October 1990, Mr. Lien accepted the National Sales Manager position with Biosensor Corporation of Plymouth, Minnesota, a medial device manufacturer.  Mr. Lien was responsible for building a sales distribution network of independent distributors for Biosensor.  While at Biosensor, Mr. Lien also managed the development of specialized software for its PC-based spirometers.

Mr. Lien founded QRS out of a spare bedroom in his home in 1995.  Since then, the company has rapidly risen to become one of the fastest growing and most recognizable names in the industry.  The company now has about 20 employees and has developed some of the most innovative products in the world.

Amy Ptak
Operations Manager 

Amy is a native of Hardwick Minnesota and attended Southwest State University where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Public Relations and Marketing. Wanting to concentrate and further develop her expertise in marketing, Amy accepted the position of Marketing Coordinator at QRS in 2000.  In her role as Marketing Coordinator Amy was instrumental in greatly expanding the QRS product line, playing a key role in the launch of the OxiCard, SpirOxCard, EKGCard and Sensaire spirometer. 

This earned Amy a promotion to Marketing Manager where she was charged with overseeing all marketing activities including corporate communications, product marketing and advertising.

Amy was promoted to Business Manager and then quickly promoted again to her current position of Operations Manager.  Amy is now the head of QRS’ operations where she leads the Manufacturing and Servicing departments.

Jamaica Thatcher
Marketing Manager

Jamaica is a native of Minneapolis, MN and graduated from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota with a Bachelors degree in Marketing. Jamaica has been actively involved in many aspects of the business and has cross-functionally worked with outside sales, internal and external training, product management, product development and marketing. 

Laurie Green
Business Manager

Laurie is a native of Hickman, Kentucky and graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.   Her background includes experience in the fields of architecture, insurance, healthcare, and manufacturing.
